Not too much food this week. Dave was sick and I just ate random things we had leftover and thrown together.

I really don't remember what I got and the picture is blurry but I had a wiggly baby on my lap. I ate as fast as I could as I fed her so I don't even know if it was good. That's how I eat 99% of the time now. Just as long as she's happy!

Elinor wasn't impressed

When Dave started feeling a little better I had made myself a fruit smoothie with chocolate chips in it. He can't resist chocolate so had to try a tiny bit.

Tomorrow we leave for Florida! I can't wait to see my parents, hang out with friends and eat lots of good food. Thanks Amanda on all of the vegan suggestions at Disney!!

Also does anyone have any tips on traveling with a baby??

two months

Right now I have this little baby on my chest completely passed out. She woke up this morning in the best mood. She was smiling at everything. Even at the doctors we took her out of her carseat and she smiled at the pictures on the walls, the nurse as she was being weighed and while we read books waiting for the doctor. It was all perfect until that nurse stuck her with 2 shots! She held her breath with her face squished up until she turned the brightest red I've ever seen and then let out a scream. I tried feeding her right after but it took a little bit for her to calm down and realize what I was doing.

Elinor is now 11.6lbs and 22in. We weighed her on the scale and Dave's work so I already knew she was around 11lbs. She already is feeling feverish and extra sleepy and snuggly from the shots. I'm planning on snuggling her all night and tomorrow. Hopefully Saturday she is ready for her first flight!

vacation

Today Elinor is 2 months! Tomorrow we go for her check up and then I'll post an update on her stats. She has to get shots :( I'm not looking forward to that at all.

Saturday we leave for a little vacation. My parents are going to Florida and invited us. We didn't think we would be able to go but then decided since I'm still on leave we might as well. Plus it will be fun to spend some more time with them and have some extra hands to play with Ellie. Dave is still not feeling well and so I've been trying my best to take care of him and Elinor without them being near each other. We thought he had food poisoning but since he has been so sick and had a fever for a couple of days I think we were wrong.

She's in my arms now and just fell asleep so I'm going to try and lay her down so I can finally eat lunch...at 4pm. Hopefully I will have some time to schedule some posts for while we are gone!

This weekend Dave somehow got food poisoning. As bad as I felt, I was so so happy I didn't get it too. There was only one thing he ate that I didn't so we are assuming that was it. While he was sleeping and trying to feel better, I kept seeing everyone post all the cute Jason Wu outfits they were getting from target. I had checked Targets website way earlier when things were still in stock and decided I didn't really like anything but later when everyone posted their pictures I changed my mind.

I haven't drove alone with Elinor yet and I still have been sitting in the backseat with her. I decided today was a good day to test out driving alone. She was in a super good mood all day and it's not too long of a drive.

Lynn called right before I left and told me she found the shirt I wanted in a large and was going to grab it for my in case I didn't find one! She's the best. I had to get Dave some sick essentials like ginger ale and crackers anyway so Ellie and I set out.

She did so good on the ride! Only once I had to reach back and give her her pacifier again. I ended up finding the shirt I wanted in a Medium which (yay!) fit and grabbed another nursing tank.

Last time I went shopping I tried on a large shirt and it didn't fit (so depressing). I started working out last week. I just have been doing the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred. I recently found this about 5 exercises to do with your baby that I plan on starting to do also. Ugh I can't wait to walk into a store and just know what size I am!

the saddest cry

Ellie cried a new cry the other day. It was the saddest cry I've ever heard and it was my fault. Her nose has been stuffy so I was trying to suction it. She was upset like normal but then couldn't calm down and cried this frantic sad cry. It took so long to calm her back down. I felt so awful.

from a couple of days ago. We were all taking pictures together then out of nowhere she was done!

I've watched kids from when I was 12 babysitting my neighbors, then working at daycares and finally working as a nanny. I've worked with so many different children and I've always been pretty confident about my choices with the kids. I rarely got upset when they cried. I mean of course I would feel bad if I had to tell them no or wipe their yucky nose or they got hurt but never to the point where it made me cry. I have more baby experience than the normal first time moms. BUT really it didn't matter. I question myself with things I do with her constantly. I always want to cry when she is upset because I feel so bad. It is so different when it is your baby. It's so funny now thinking about all the times I would talk with my nanny friends and we would joke around saying when I'm a parent I would never do that! Oh but here I am and my baby is barely 2 months and I give in right away to everything.

I'm sure once I get back to work and into a normal schedule it will be better...maybe. She will have to learn to share me with the other kids. Since we aren't planning on having any more babies I'm glad she will have Dorie and Henri to be with everyday or she might be a little spoiled.

I love this little baby so much and I just want the best for her! I never want her to be sad but I need to remember she will be fine because she has me and Dave and all of our families and friends that love her and will always be there for her.

Yesterday we took Elinor to her first of many storytime/sing alongs. I looked up the local library to see if they have one and found out it is on wednesdays and the library is only a 5 minute walk from us. Dave stayed home to come with us. He is funny, he didn't want to miss out on seeing her reaction.

We walked in and it was way different than the ones I take Dorie to. The ones in Cambridge you have to get there at least 30 min before it starts to get a ticket and even with them limiting the amount of people it is in a huge room and packed. (It is always fun though!) When we got there, there was only one other toddler there. After about 10 min, 6 other kids showed up. Ellie was the youngest of course but she loved it. She looked at all the kids and smiled when we played the bells and sticks. Her favorite was the scarves. We played peek a boo with them and she smiled and kicked getting so excited. I'm glad I took her and we probably will go more before I go back to work. I always took Dorie to a storytime or sing along everyday since she was 3months. So many options in Cambridge to go to a different one everyday.

This is what she wore to the library. I bought 2 dresses for her from Hart and Sew. They are so cute and in great condition. She just put more dresses up the other day and I'm trying to not buy anymore.

I'm so glad that she liked going to the library and seeing other kids. Friday we stopped by to visit Dorie and Henri. They all seemed so happy to see each other. Henri showed it by chowing down on Elinor's hand. She didn't mind though. They cooed at each other and it was the cutest thing I've ever seen.

Dorie jumped up on the couch and said you know I'm really good at holding babies now. I asked if she wanted to hold Elinor then and she said well yea! She is going to be such a big helper when I go back.

This little baby loves her playmat. Every morning she wakes up in the best mood and starts talking and smiling at everything...the lights, the window, the vents. Then we make our way into the livingroom and she plays on her mat while I make breakfast. She gets so excited as soon as I put her down and she sees her friends and the mirror.

I've tried to take a video of how wild she gets but EVERYTIME I start to record she stops. I caught a little bit of it today though!

My parents are in town. It has been so nice to have them here especially since this is the first time my dad is meeting Elinor.

I really wish we lived closer to them. She loves them so much. We went to the mall today and at one point they sat hanging out with her while I ran around the mall shopping alone for a little bit. She just snuggled on my dad's shoulder and slept the whole time.

Yesterday was Elinor's one month check up. It's so crazy how fast this month has gone by. This little tiny 6lb baby is so big already! I need to stop squeezing her into newborn clothes and pack them up to pass down to another baby (who is having a baby girl??).

She is now 9lbs 7oz and 21in! Whoa big baby! Obviously nursing is going well and she is gaining perfect. I was worried the whole time I was pregnant that I wasn't going to be able to nurse. There wasn't any reason for me thinking that, I just knew it wasn't going to work. I'm happy that she is growing and healthy!

first road trip

This weekend last minute we decided to take a trip to Philly to see Dave's family. Turns out Elinor is a great traveler! She did great on the way there only screaming and wouldn't take her bottle once so we pulled into a hotel parking lot so I could feed her and change her diaper. We let her hang out for awhile before putting her back in her seat and heading back out.

I was nervous she would be a wreck that night at Dave's Mom's house since she slept so much but she was good and slept her normal amount.
Saturday night though was a different story. She did not want to sleep. Finally around 2am she stopped her fussing and passed out. Thankfully we recently found out about Dr. Karp and the 5 s's and that helped a lot. We need to buy his book!
Sunday we did a lot of visiting we family. She was so grumpy that afternoon but after a long nap she was ready to meet all of her uncles aunts and cousins.

We were heading back home Sunday night but we stopped by a show before. We had her little headphones and the ergo which worked perfect. There was only one point when she decided she was starving so we went to a back room to feed her. I put her back on and we stood on the side of the stage. She passed out again right away.

We were trying the headphones on and as soon as we did she went limp and fell asleep.

The way home was great. She slept almost the whole time. I had to take her out and wake her up to eat and change her diaper half way. We got home around 4am. She was up for 2 hr and the fell back to sleep till 10! Since I slept in the car too, I think it was the most sleep I've got!

Now I know she should do decent on our next trip there and our trip to Florida next month!

Our first night out was so much fun. We waited until right before AN was supposed to be going on to leave and since we only live 5 min away from the venue we didn't have to be away for too long. We were there long enough to see some friends and find a good spot to watch. I didn't even cry leaving her! I thought I was going to have a hard time but my sister kept me updated on everything they were doing and sent me pictures the whole time. Thank you Courtney!

Tonight we are doing the usual sitting home watching movies and eating. Except this is the first year in awhile Dorie won't be sleeping over. Instead we will be partying with Ellie and maybe actually get to watch a real movie not a cartoon.

Tomorrow I'm planning on going through all of my clothes and get a donate pile started. After trying on all of my pre pregnancy clothes on the other day I realize a lot of things will never fit me the same..at least for a long time while I'm nursing the baby. I also need to go through Elinor's clothes because she is finally outgrowing her newborn sizes and I need to reorganize the 0-3month. That is if she lets me put her down for a little bit. This girl likes to eat all day!

I barely open my computer anymore. Good thing I got an iphone. I can check other blogs (sometime), instagram, and other little things to pass the time. Also taking pictures with my phone has been so much easier than taking the camera out. So pretty much I always have baby in one hand and my phone in the other.

She was sleeping pretty good only waking up 2, 5 and 8. Then the last two nights she wants to party all night. But she is the cutest when she is awake so it is easy to wake up and talk and sing to her at 3am.

We ran out of newborn diapers and the size 1s seemed too big still so I tried out her cloth diapers. They fit and she wore one for about a hour before exploding. They made Dave a little nervous because her tiny little legs had some space and he thought she was going to pee on him.

Tomorrow morning we go pick my sister up from the airport so she can meet Elinor. Also she is babysitting for us that night so we can go to this

I'm so sad about leaving her for a night but I know my sister will cuddle her all night and Ellie will probably think it's me anyway...we kind of look alike. It's going to be such an exciting day/night for the both of us!

Elinor is named after her Grandmother Eleanor

Dave is one of 3 boys and his Dad has all brothers. Ellie is the first girl after a long line of boys. I loved the name Eleanor and with it being Dave's moms name we thought it would be special if we named her after her grandmom.

My Moms middle name is Marie which we liked but we wanted something a little different. After trying to come up with a middle name forever we found Meira, a variant of Marie.

(almost) 2 week checkup

This morning we went for Ellie's 2 weeks checkup. She was 6lbs 15oz at birth. When we left the hospital she was down to 6lbs 5oz. Today she is 7lbs 15oz! We could tell because her little cheeks and belly are so much bigger already. Plus at night she has been doing cluster marathon feeding. At birth she was 20in long. At her Dr appt the day after we left the hospital she was 19 in? I guess they measured wrong the first time. Today she is 20 1/2in.

The Dr said she is perfect, healthy and everything is looking great. We were a little worried because her right shoulder kept popping but the Dr said it's because hormones made her muscles loosen up for birth and it was normal.

I didn't talk about it on here but while I was pregnant I tested high for trisomy 18. That's one of the reasons we had to get so many ultrasounds done. Then they picked up a skip in her heartbeat. Even with all the extra appointments, as my due date got closer I started getting nervous again that she would be sick. Half of infants born with Trisomy 18 don't survive the first week. It was scary but we already loved her so much no matter what. I'm so happy that she didn't have it and everything with her is perfect and she is growing and right on track.

We are a little crazy and decided Elinor needed to see Santa. We were supposed to go to Dave's work christmas party later that night so we went to the mall on the way. She was so good! Of course since she doesn't do much

After we got Jamba Juice and her picture taken I started to feel achy and sick. We skipped the party and headed home. We've done a whole lot of snuggling in bed and napping today and I feel a lot better. I think a just needed a lot of sleep.

our first week

I'm finally getting caught up on sleep and not so much in a daze. The last couple of days just blurred together but it has been amazing. We were so lucky to have my mom in town to help followed by Dave's mom. Today is the first day it is just me and Elinor. Dave went to run some errands and we took naps and she ate ALL morning. I'm still pretty sore but I've given in to motrin and tylenol which helps.

Yesterday we had our first outing, just to babies r us. I had to get a couple of things and since they have the mothers room I thought it would be a perfect place to test going out incase she needed to eat. Dave suggested taking the moby wrap instead of the stroller which was a really good idea. I just transferred her to the wrap from the backseat and she never made a peep. We even took the scenic route so we could show Dave's mom around a little.

Dave took pictures of her yesterday for her birth announcements. I thought of the idea of her in one of her cloth diapers under the tree. A couple of days before I had her Annie sent me a package of hair clips of Ellie. As soon as I saw the one she's wearing in the pic I knew it would be perfect for this. Thanks again Annie (open an Etsy shop!) I'll wait to share the real birth announcement picture until they are mailed out but here is a peek..

I was supposed to be induced tonight starting at 6pm but they rescheduled it for Monday night. Hopefully they don't have to bump me back again because I don't think this baby is going to come on her own. I was really hoping she would because I didn't want to have to take any drugs but I'm also not going to tell the DR no. She obviously knows better than me. We had a talk with her a couple of weeks ago (I can't remember if I wrote about it on here of not) about our birth plan. We told her the only thing I want is natural with no drugs but even that I'm willing to change. I know you can't completely plan for births and things can change very quickly. I don't want to set myself up for disappointment. We are laid back anyway so whatever the DR thinks is best we will go with. Everyday I'm just so much more uncomfortable and more anxious to meet this little one. I asked Dave's mom to send us baby pictures of him so I could put our baby pictures together and try to decide what I think she will look like.

Danielle from Sometimes Sweet did this fun post yesterday so I'm going to steal it for today...

Obsessing over: meeting this baby! I can not stop thinking about her. I've tried to crochet and read books but it is so hard to concentrate on anything when I'm so close.

Working on: nesting! We have had the nursery done for awhile now but everyday I find something else I need to be doing. There is always more laundry to be done or closets to be cleaned. At least the house will be spotless soon!

Thinking about: How fast this pregnancy went by but how quickly it slowed down this week. I look back on older blog posts from when we first found out and I can not believe how fast 9 months flies by.

Anticipating: Sunday!! Because I'm scheduled to be induced! We had our 39 week appt yesterday. The Dr told us my cervix is still way posterior and she doesn't want to wait till after my due date. So hopefully by Monday we will have our baby girl!

Listening to: A Very She & Him Christmas. I finally got ahold of this and have not stopped listening. It has been so soothing and nice to listen to. I might bring it to listen to during delivery.

Drinking: tons and tons of water and yogi raspberry leaf tea. This tea is now my favorite. It is such a nice light flavor and also strengthens your uterus! Who doesn't want a strong uterus??

Wishing: The baby decides to come today! I don't think she will, she seems to be stubborn but today is my mom's birthday! It would be a special day for her to share a birthday with my mom and also my grandmother.

My mom is in town now for 2 weeks. I'm so happy and lucky to have her in town for not only her birthday but for the birth of her 7th grandchild!

our thanksgiving

How was your Thanksgiving? Ours was very laid back and delicious! This is the first year in forever that we didn't travel to either Ohio or PA. Dave's Dad and Cindy were in town, so we got to spend the day with them, which was nice. We did miss the rest of our families but it was relaxing to wake up and lay in bed and watch the parade. We ordered our meal from Whole Foods but we made green beans with toasted almonds to bring for our side. I steamed the green beans, toasted some almond slices and then cooked them with a little lemon juice, olive oil, salt and pepper.

Justine did an amazing job decorating and preparing everything. She even made a cheese plate with vegan cheese for us! That is on top of making some of their sides like mashed potatoes vegan for us.

We had fun snuggling with Reid. He was a little sick and just wanted to be held. He is the best baby even when he isn't feeling well.

The picture right before this one he is laying his head on Dave and his poor little eyes were red. Cindy managed to get him to smile for this one.

I also made a vegan pumpkin pie that came out really good. I want to make another one soon. It was really simple with not many ingredients.

These pictures are from a couple of days ago. I wanted something comfy to wear. A lot of my maternity shirts don't completely fit over my belly anymore. I told Dave I felt like I was dressed like an art teacher. All I needed was a big wooden beaded necklace.

Birthday!

Yesterday was my 31st birthday. I was hoping I would get a baby for my birthday but I guess she didn't want to share birthdays. We didn't have too many plans but to see The Muppets later. Dave made me chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast!

I had bought a dress from the thrift store I really wanted to wear but I never got around to hemming it. I tried on a bunch of old dresses hoping one would magically fit over my belly. I thought I was hilarious and put on a fred perry dress Dave bought me right before I started growing a baby and never got to wear.

I finally really got dressed and we headed to Salem. We love their theatre and wanted to walk around after the movie.

It was such a nice day. Perfect for walking around. I miss our old neighborhood so much!

Has anyone else gone to see The Muppets yet?! I loved it! I might have teared up a couple of times. After the movie we walked around a little more. Went to Coven and got hot chocolate..they have vegan treats there now! But we didn't get any

After all the walking I was in pain and just wanted pizza. We went to Whole Foods, had a pizza made and bought 2 slices of vegan chocolate cake. When we got home, in front of our door there were flowers, a bear and balloon waiting for me! Dave sent them with a sweet note...I teared up again.

I had such a great day! It couldn't have been a better day...unless baby girl had decided to come!

Who is going shopping for black friday?? Not me! Dave however is currently at the outlet mall. I don't think I could've handled it.

I'm sitting on the couch watching the parade while Dave is still sleeping and this little baby is wiggling around in my belly. No signs of her coming anytime soon!
We ordered our thanksgiving dinner from Whole Foods this year. It was pretty perfect since I most likely would not be in the mood to cook a full meal. Later today we are going to The Sterling's with Dave's dad and Cindy to eat with them. I did make a vegan pumpkin pie last night and I hope it came out good!

I'm so thankful this year...

For all of our family and friends. Everyone has been so good to us and helped us out so much with everything. I love everyone texting and calling us checking in to see if there is a baby here yet. I know they are all just as excited as we are.

For being able to work for an awesome family that will allow me to bring my baby to work with me.

For an apartment that I love and being able to have a 2nd bedroom for our little one.

For having such a healthy pregnancy and healthy growing baby.

and especially for Dave for always being there for me, taking care of me and always being the best!

After we get home tonight I may beg Dave to start bringing the Christmas decorations up from the basement! My mom will be here on Tuesday and I hope we will get a tree while she is in town...or a baby. Which would be good since that is why she is coming.

We took Dorie to Jordan's Enchanted Village last Friday. It's one of our special holiday things we always do with her(last years post). I'm sad because we won't be making it to Zoolights this year.

We have been during crowded times but it was pretty much empty when we went. It was so nice to take our time looking at each display. The only bummer was Santa wasn't there! I swore I read he would be there during that time but of course the time she was looking forward to seeing him he wasn't there. There was a sign saying he would be back at 7...it was 4. She wanted to wait for him to get back but we convinced her getting popcorn was a better idea. Oh the other bummer was Dorie is finally tall enough to see the polar express 4D ride but since I fell under one of the "conditions" we couldn't go. But she didn't what she was missing anyway.

our trip to Cafe Indigo

As soon as we walked in I noticed a sign for the gobbler special. It was their own homemade turkey, stuffing and cranberries. WOW! It was so good. We made a lot of these sandwiches last year after thanksgiving but of course a sandwich is always better when someone else makes it. The bread was also homemade and made the sandwich!

The hardest part was deciding on dessert.

Spikes finally opened in the Burlington Mall! I got the junk yard dog which for some reason I've never got. I wanted 10 more after I finished and of course their fries are the best!

Dave brought me olives home the other night from whole foods. He used to hate olives until I turned him on to these guys.

My last day of work is next week so I'm sure I will be doing nothing but eating. So most likely next Friday's I like food will be packed. Oh and it is the day after Thanksgiving!

Full term

Today I am 37 weeks, full term. The baby can come at anytime and be fine but I doubt she will make her appearance for a couple of weeks. Yesterday I was starting to have bad cramps and sharp back pains to the point where I had to call into work. Today at our appt they didn't check me but she said everything is looking great. They gave us the when to call paper too. I'm so anxious already these next few weeks are going to go by so slow!
I might have worn this outfit yesterday too. But only for a couple of hours and never left the house. I got dressed and ready then realized going to work wasn't going to happen so I changed back into my pjs and took a nap.

We had out last ultrasound today. We kept joking saying they would ask us to come back one more time before Dec 7th. But she is growing and moving great so they don't have to see us again! They said she is 6.5lbs and has a little bit of hair. No pictures though because her little face was facing my spine. We did get to see her take practice breaths and her rolls on her little chubby back. As the dr was walking out she said you should be meeting your little sweet pea in 2 weeks. Whaaaat?? 2 weeks!
Maybe I will be getting a baby for my birthday?!

Before our appointment we went to bagel world. I got an everything with hummus. Soooo good!

Since I didn't have work today I went with Dave to run some errands. We ended up in New Hampshire and Maine. It was such a pretty drive and I even got to take a couple little naps.

We passed a pumpkin field still full of poor little pumpkins no one wanted and then went to cafe indigo, which I will write about on Friday!

Dave even finally put on his new windshield wipers. Just in time for a little rain.

I was thinking about starting to make some of these stews and casseroles to freeze for when baby comes but all of them are so easy to make I don't think I will need to. Most of them I've been printing out and adding to my cookbook binder so Dave will be able to find them when he is in charge of the cooking again. My mom is also coming to visit and said she has been looking up recipes she can make for us! We are so lucky!

These are some of the best vegan cookies I've made. I saw a link from another blog but I forget where! They have the same consistency as real cookies. I get so frustrated with vegan cookies not actually cooking and getting crispy and still chewy. I didn't have any molasses so I used maple syrup instead.

My birthday isn't until the 26th but I Dave already gave me my gift. I've been telling him I want an iphone for a long time but with the new one he decided he finally wanted one too. He got himself one a week ago and then got one for me yesterday! He is the best, I love that guy! I guess it is really hard to get a new one. I'm so excited to be able to take fast pictures and videos of the baby on my phone!

After I picked Dorie up from school last week, we took a trip to the zoo. We hadn't been in so long. Since we didn't get there until after 2 it was empty and all the animals were right up in front of their cages. I've never seen it like that before. They also were starting to set up for zoolights that we usually go to every year. Dorie got excited at first that the rides were set up but I had to explain it wouldn't be open until later this month.

I've had a couple of these go max go candy bars before but I've never seen this one before the fest. It tastes exactly what I remember a reeses cup tasting like. MIlky chocolate and peanut butter! and still vegan!

homemade donuts recipe from peas and thank you. We didn't have coconut oil to make the glaze so we just used chocolate chips alone. It made a thicker glaze but Dave got the idea if we put them in the fridge the next morning they would taste like entenmann's with the thick chocolate. They did and were delicious!

How was everyones halloween? I miss sitting at my moms house passing out candy seeing all the little kids in cute costumes. Not many kids trick or treat around here. Next year we will have to take the baby to Salem to get some candy (for us).

A couple of days before Halloween I took Dorie to the mall for trick or treating. It was awesome! They had craft tables and a bunch of stores were passing out candy. It was nice the kids could run around and see each others costumes without coats on.

We got so many amazing gifts. We went into her room after everyone left and went through everything again and couldn't believe how good our friends are to us. Lynn even crocheted us a blanket. When she found out I was pregnant she started it. She is the best!

I finished washing everything yesterday. I even put the bundleme in the carseat and put it by the door. I tried to pack a bag but it didn't work. I got baby's stuff together but when it comes to my stuff I don't know what I need. I've read the lists, I just don't want to put things I may need in the bag yet. At least we live pretty close to the hospital so Dave can always run home if I forget something.

Today is the first day of November which means my birthday is so soon. This year I'm looking forward to getting my belated bday gift more then anything. Or if she decides to come early that's ok too!

Sunbaby Diapers

We have been talking about and researching cloth diapers for awhile now. It gets so confusing! Lucky I have some friends that have/do cloth diaper. Here is a site my friend sent me that explains all the differences and one about what detergent to use. Plus there are some good message boards and youtube videos of how to's that make it less intimidating.
I found out about Sunbaby Cloth Diapers through a message board. All of the reviews I've read sound pretty good. Of course I won't know until she is here but since they are so affordable and one size we thought we would try them out. Oh and they have really cute patterns to choose from. Friday our first package of Sunbaby Diapers showed up!

Dave grabbed one and went to her room to try them out on the bear. Besides almost putting it on backwards he did great! I don't think he has ever even diapered a baby with disposables before.

Nursery tour

I've been up for way too long already this morning so since I'm up I will finally post the nursery pictures. I could have done better and I will probably retake some after our shower next weekend. Since taking these the glider is now in the livingroom and the changing table is pushed over. The huge shelf in there for now is full of Dave's side business but as soon as baby can move/crawl the rows will slowly be replaced with books and toys. The room is pretty small but perfect for the little one.

I have been super boring lately and have pretty much nothing to write about. I also went nesting crazy and everything is already finished in the nursery. Maybe I will post pictures because it is very pretty in there. We recently moved the glider to the living room though because it is comfy and easier to get in and out of. At least it matches the living room too.
In my email for 33 weeks it said I should start packing our hospital bag. It seems so crazy that we are so close to seeing our little one! I found a what to pack on Pampers site. I'm worried about not having anything to eat at the hospital so I need to remember to pack plenty of snacks for us. We went on the hospital tour but I didn't even think to ask while we were there.

I am finally carless!! I was afraid to do it just in case but I never use it and it was just sitting in our lot wasting away. I donated it to cars for breast cancer. I told my mom I was wanting to junk or donate it and she sent me the link. It was so simple and within a day they were here towing it away.

There is a super cute website I just found out about. Heard on the playground is little stories of silly things kids say. I could read them forever, kids are hilarious.

Today I am 32 weeks pregnant and I have a Dr appointment. Then next week I have hopefully my last level 2 ultrasound and can be completely cleared. We were told last time everything looks great but they wanted to do one last check on her growth. I feel like she is running out of room in there and I don't know how my belly can get any bigger!

Last week was such nice perfect fall weather. Then this weekend it has been in the 80s again. I think it was the last of the warm weather before fall fully hits. We took advantage of it by playing at the playground with some little ones and taking a trip to the beach. We drove by an apple orchard and thought about going but it was insanely packed. Hopefully we can go soon and start making apple everything desserts.

I asked Dave if this outfit looks ok and he kept saying I'm worried about that button. It didn't pop off though! I am getting more and more uncomfortable and I feel bad complaining because I would rather me be in pain and baby girl be comfy and growing. A lot of Dave rubbing my back, prenatal yoga and a bath and I am feeling a little bit better. It is also getting really old having to go to the bathroom every 10 minutes....I'm not even kidding. But little miss is growing so much and everything with her is looking great.
During my morning sickness stage I had some non vegan food cravings. Mostly cheese pizza from Reginas but I have been doing really good eating healthy and getting everything I need. I've found so many awesome vegan/veg blogs lately that leave me craving everything they post. Here are a couple

Last week we went to the sowa market. I've wanted to go for so long but things always come up or it rains. Finally I got Dave to agree to go. PLus he was excited to go to Bobby from Boston. I was too at first until I walked in and couldn't breath. Then after looking at some cute dresses remembering 1 I'm now on a spending freeze and 2 nothing would fit right now anyway. But it was a nice day and fun to walk around and Dave got me a Del's frozen lemonade!

Getting a late start on my Friday post today, it was a crazy day. I had a Dr's appointment this morning which seems like days ago. Then I got to hangout with the little Sterlings which is always fun. Hopefully this weekend is laid back. We have some cleaning around the house to do but that is about it!

Dorie has a new baby brother! He is the cutest little guy ever. When I first held him my baby kicked and he jumped. She is already bonding with him. A couple of weeks ago Dorie and I went to the craft store and I let her pick out yarn for hats for everyone. She loves green so she made sure each had green in it.

This is the first time I'm opening my computer today! Busy busy day today and I'm so happy it's the weekend so I can chill out a little. Last weekend we went to a friends birthday party. I thought this shirt fit ok but as soon as we got there someone told me I was busting out of it...that shirt is now in the pile of maybe next year.
I actually painted my own toes before we left too! I was planning to get a pedi but never had time to go. Since I was wearing shoes that it mattered I squished the baby leaning over and painted them. They actually turned out decent but next time I will have to ask Dave to do it.

I'm glad it's getting cooler so I can start wearing leggings and jeans. The dresses I have are getting a little too short from trying to cover my belly.

We had a real ultrasound yesterday. Baby girl is measuring great and is 3lbs already! Every time we get an ultrasound they comment on how active she is. Today she has been rolling around and wiggling and it hurts! I feel like there isn't much room for her to be partying like that.

We got a couple of pictures from yesterday and one was another 3D. As soon as they took that one and tried for another she put her feet and arms in front of her face.

Last time we went for our 3D/4D ultrasound I was only 19 or 20 weeks along. Whoa! How much a baby grows in 8 weeks! We went to A New Conception again in Hanover Ma. They are so nice there and go above what we were expecting.
When Kim first started looking, baby girl was snuggled against my placenta again with her arm over her other side of her face. I started to think we weren't going to get to see her whole face just little glimpses of her nose or mouth.

Kim had me do some stretches, which also felt good to do, and it got her to move a little. We started again and finally saw our little girls face!

and even got to see her yawn a bunch of times!

With the package we got this time we got a dvd of the whole session. We are going to edit it and then I will share it. There is a lot of seeing the back of her head in the beginning. I can't wait to see her in person and have a real picture to go next to one of these ultrasound ones!

So I guess Fridays will most likely be "I like food" days. I always seem to have pics on my phone or camera by the end of the week that I sometimes never even post anywhere.

This week we, after finding out it is finally open, we headed to central square for Veggie Galaxy. I've wrote about Veggie Planet in Harvard Square a couple of times but this place is even better. Don't get me wrong I love the pizza from veggie planet but nothing beats a good veggie diner!
We were the first people there...waiting outside for it to open. As soon as they opened the doors everyone was super friendly and unlike veggie planet there is a ton of seating. It is super clean, everything was completely redone and you feel like you are in a diner car with the way the ceilings are curved.

We split the french toast stuffed with banana nut cream cheese topped with caramelized banana butter, strawberry basil sauce and maple syrup and...

the egg and cheese sandwich made vegan with tofu eggs, housemade vegan cheese, baby arugula with tempeh bacon.

The french toast was insane. So good and didn't make you feel sick or on a sugar high after eating it. The egg and cheese was really good but I'm glad we split it because after awhile it was tasting too salty. I guess with tofu eggs and tempeh together it can be too much. Dave also had the TAZA hot chocolate which was good but I thought it was a little too rich. Having taza chocolate before it tastes like you are just drinking a chocolate bar. I'm sure some people wouldn't think that is a bad thing!

We also got some treats to go for later. Dave got a black and white cookie which he loved. I didn't get to try it...

and I got a cinnamon roll. I'm always craving cinnamon rolls so I was excited to get one. The only problem I had with it was the icing tasted lemony and I don't really care for lemon flavors. I still gobbled up the whole thing and loved it.

There was a ton of other desserts I wanted to try so I can't wait to go back. I told Dave since it's on my way to work/near my work I might be going everyday just to try everything. I'm so excited to have a vegan place in our area. I get so bummed out when we go to Philly or NYC and there are places all over.

Dave said I was looking miserable in all the other pictures so I smiled for the last one. These were taken by a pond near our new house. There is a cute little playground on the other side of the pond that I bet we will end up going to a lot next year!
Today I'm in my third trimester! It seems like it has gone by so fast. On a weekly guide of what I should be getting ready for it says this week I should find a doctor for the baby....really?? already?? At least a friend referred us to where they go so hopefully they are excepting new patients.
Obviously you can see this baby is growing fast and will be here in no time. I did find a couple more old outfits that will still fit over this belly and Lynn took my to forever 21 in Burlington Mall and I found cheap maternity skinny jeans! In the last blog I did complaining about fitting into things, Jennifer suggested sizing up. I ended up finding a really cute higher waisted dress for $10 a couple sizes bigger at H&M that fits perfect! Thanks again Jennifer!

I've been trying so hard to use coupons on everything lately. I bought our first box of diapers (newborn ones, we plan to cloth diaper when she gets a little bigger) and it was free! They FINALLY opened a jamba juice near us!!! We meant to go on the day it opened but got busy. I hope it stays there so everyone go to jamba juice in the northshore mall!!

We made another pizza because I am forever craving a pizza and it is always delicious!

I found this recipe for eggless deviled egg tofu salad. I really really loved deviled eggs so I started searching for black salt or kala namak. I thought whole foods would have it (maybe they do but not ours) but I ended up having to go to the Indian market to pick it up. Just a little taste of black salt and it is exactly eggs. I suggest you try finding some next time you make tofu scramble of any sort!

I love the recipes Jen always shares. I showed Dave this recipe for guacamole bruschetta and he went out and bought a couple of avocados right away. It was so simple to throw together and would be a perfect appetizer though we ate it for dinner...and for a side the next night.

How pretty are these earrings?? When I got them a couple of weeks ago courtesy of Modcloth, I was so excited to wear something pretty since I've been feeling down about clothes lately. I wish I had a purple ribbon to wear with the black dress to match them but I think the tan still goes together nicely. Once my hair gets a little longer it will look so pretty to wear my hair back with them. I don't wear earrings often and they were a lot bigger than I expected but I think they would have looked a little silly if they were any smaller. Now I just need to find a pretty necklace to match them!

I tried my hardest this weekend to find an old dress that still fit. After trying on five I found one! The others wouldn't zip, is now a shirt on me or just wouldn't fit over my chest. I have two of this dress so yay two more things I can wear.

Did I mention I hate maternity clothes shopping? I hate shopping anyway but this is even worse. I did find some cute clothes on sale on ASOS. I just don't know what size to order though? Has anyone ordered any maternity clothes through there before??

Hopefully I will get to H&M soon and find some decent maternity jeans or leggings. They seem to always be the best bet. The stuff at target lately is so ugly and at the maternity stores in the mall it is so expensive. I walk pass forever21 and frown. I'm sure I could find something in there that would fit but it probably wouldn't fit my growing belly after long. Why is it so hard to dress the same as I was and on the same budget?? Everyone coming out with maternity clothes needs to have an affordable line!

Marshfield Fair

Last year Dorie and I went to the Marshfield Fair with Lynn. This year we took Dave and met up with Lynn and Pete. With traffic we got there later than we wanted but without realizing it we stayed until it closed. It was like a casino with no clocks and bright lights.
We went straight for the animals. I swore we took more pictures but I guess not. Also the ones we took weren't the best

Lynn was the best and took Dorie on this crazy ride since I couldn't and Dave hates rides. It went back and forth and spun in circles...she loved it

Last ride of the night, Dorie was in one of the cars. She talked about going on the ferris wheel the whole ride there but when we stood in front of it she said yea I really don't think I want to try it today.

I thought she would fall asleep on the ride home but she talked nonstop the whole way. Mostly about the monkey balloon we got before we left.

August 25th

Dorie's birthday! We had planned on taking her to this science center with nature trails and frogs and turtles all the things she loves but as we were driving there it started it rain. Just like last year. Dave said how about the Aquarium since we were still in Boston and Dorie says well that's what I wanted to do in the 1st place. Oh silly sassy 4 year old.
We picked her up from school and gave her presents

Then we headed to the Aquarium.

We went out to eat at My Thai after the Aquarium. Dorie loves their bubble tea. He favorite part is the "blueberries" at the bottom. She shared my chicken and broccoli and chicken fingers. She sometimes won't try new things so she was excited to get chicken fingers. We didn't tell her they weren't real until the end. The whole time she kept saying how great they were and then when we told her she didn't believe us. We also got a piece of chocolate cake to bring home for later. We split it in 3 (birthday girl got the biggest!) and sang happy birthday. It was a fun day!

These were taken in my parents backyard. They have a little hill that they let go and I think it is so pretty with wild flowers and tall grass. I was carrying my shoes outside with me but I think this outfit looks better with naked feet anyway.

I'm now 25 weeks! Very soon to be 26. It is so crazy how quick it is going. Everyday I'm a little bit bigger and little bit slower. Which isn't too fun but sitting here watching my belly jump up and down and seeing waves of an arm or something poke out that is big and round like a head is amazing!
We are going to set up our next 3D/4D ultrasound soon. I can't wait to be able to see her little face so much better than last time!

We took some pictures at the baby shower but as soon as everyone got there we forgot about the camera. So many people came that I hadn't seen in years. It made me a little sad that I don't get to hangout with them anymore.

It was so much fun. My mom and Sharon went out of their way to fix recipes and make almost everything vegan. I ate so much all day! My mom even found a lady in Cincinnati that makes vegan cakes. Check out Sweet Peace! It was delicious!

I'm so happy and thankful for everyone coming, bringing presents and spending their day with us. We brought home an insane amount of baby things...like filled our trunk and backseat! I really didn't think many people were even coming and didn't expect to be bringing that much back with us. Thank you thank you thank you everyone! I can't wait to get her room completely finished to share...and for her to be here and put her in all these cute clothes!

jungle jim's

The first day we were in Cincinnati I had ran out of vitamins so we had to run to babies r us. Since we were out that way Dave really wanted to go to Jungle Jim's. It is a huge grocery store with anything you could possibly want. Dave saw it once on tv and then on tour they were looking for a starbucks and the gps brought them there. He didn't get to look around when he was on tour so he has been wanting to go every since.

I wish we had one near us. The natural food section was awesome and I saw so many things I would've got if we were around longer than 2 days. Everything seemed cheaper than when we go to whole foods at home too. We picked up some chocolate, sheese, and a couple of other things. I really wish I could find sheese somewhere near us. It is so yummy with crackers!
