Philadelphia Walk for Farm Animals

When we go to farms or watch shows about farming life it kills me. Elinor sees eggs and the first thing she says is "baby chicks!". It's weird but it makes me happy she thinks of a living being when she sees animals rather than food. It also blows my mind when people get grossed/freaked out about the killing of an animal...but they eat meat.

I have seen other bloggers post about visiting farm sanctuaries and would love to visit one some day. These farm sanctuaries rescue animals from factory farms, stockyards, natural disasters, and abuse and neglect cases. They come to these farms to be taking care of properly and sometimes even placed with loving families.

October 5th is the Philadelphia Walk for Farm Animals. My friend is walking this year to raise money to support the Farm Sanctuaries life-saving mission to protect farm animals from cruelty, inspire change in the way society views and treats farm animals, and promote compassion.

Meridith is so close to her goal! So please donate or even just read more about the Farm!

Go Meridith!

  1. I have to admit, I don't like thinking about where my meat comes from... but I also eat it very sparingly!

    1. I was always grossed out when eating meat when I was younger. I did the same thing...I just didn't think about it.
