v is for vegan

After reading Ruby Roth's That's Why We Don't Eat Animals: A Book About Vegans, Vegetarians, and All Living Things, I knew we needed more books about being vegan for Elinor. There are a tons\ of books out there that are really cute. Sarah Creighton from VeggieKids wrote an awesome book about The Boy Who Loved Broccoli.

Ruby Roth just wrote a new book V Is for Vegan: The ABCs of Being Kind. Elinor loves it. But more importantly, she seemed to really grasp what vegan is. She has been talking about not eating animals and what she eats instead. It makes me a little more nervous to not confuse her by saying we are eating "chicken" for dinner. I got some good suggestions when I made that post like just calling it protein or all of it tofu.

The book not only talks about vegan food but also living healthy and not hurting the earth. I love that it is short enough for a toddler but still goes over everything. Elinor likes pointing out all the food on each pages. Her favorite page might be the L is for legumes. She likes pointing to each bean and saying what it is.

  3. It's great they have resources like this for toddlers to help them understand what being a vegan really means, and why your family chooses to do it. So cute about the legumes, too! :)

  4. Oh my word. Could she be any cuter? Is there any possible way? What a doll! I am glad you are able to find books that help you convey the values and ideas you have with her.
