working

I've been working more and missing Elinor terribly. Besides teaching, I have been helping out working the counter at the gym. It's been nice to have more adult interaction but I can't stand missing my baby! She has been a little more demanding and baby talking lately. I have to think it is because I'm not there.
giving her everything because I feel guilty.
I'm planning a new schedule for us soon. I'm terrible at keeping a set schedule so it will be pretty flexible. I just want to add more structure and activities for her. I think it will help with the acting out. Especially if Dave keeps up with it the days I'm at work.

On pinterest, I found this great blog for ideas. I'm excited to try these out.

Anyone have any great links for homeschool preschool ideas?

  1. You should check out the local library for free kids storytimes and activities! I loved taking my two to them when they were in preschool!

  2. I'm a working mom and I know how hard it can be to be away from your child. Local playgroups or the library are good ideas.

    1. We have found a few playgroups but they either don't match with our schedule or she isn't the right age. It's always something!

  3. LOl, this is how my hubby feels - guilty for working! She'll be fine. Believe me, even my kids survived daycare, once up a time. None of the preschool ideas I ever tried worked out, lol! OH WAIT - that's not true. Music therapy but you don't have to do therapy. Find a place that teaches drumming and stuff like that to little kids. We have them here in Lehigh Valley (our school even employs some of those teachers.) It's neat and kids love it.

  4. Dear Caitlin, you are far too hard on yourself. I've known you for nearly 34 years. You are very organized and structured and create amazing activities and learning experiences for the little ones. Also, you are the best mom ever. Truly. I am envious of Elinor's life!

  5. I second the library. Also we had a lot of fun at Little Gym classes.

    1. Little gym is so expensive! We are doing ballet and maybe a cheaper gymnastics class that we took before

  7. The local library or community centers off great activities. Jack and I did music together when he was about Elinor's age and he loved it.

    1. I loved music together when I nannied. I'm not sure where they do it around us. I also don't think we have it in our budget.

  9. I am horrible at having a set schedule too! We love the library for free activities, events and just all around stuff!
Another favorite of ours is Pottery Barn Kids' story time!
