Philadelphia has some great pop up parks this summer. We loved The Oval last year and this year it is even better. Located on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, The Oval has so much to do. From morning story times to happy hour at the beer garden. You can catch a yoga or fitness class there and get lunch at one of the food trucks.
Elinor loved the PINK sand in the sandboxes. Seriously, the sand is so bright pink that you will need sunglasses. I wish there was an umbrella above them though. Both the sand boxes are right in the direct sun. We forgot a hat that day and E got a bit of sunburn on her scalp. There is also mini golf, huge checker and chess sets, ping pong tables and more. After we played in the sand for awhile, Elinor ran through the sprinklers they had set up.
You will have to check their event calendar to find out about more. There is a stage and sometimes live music and acts preforming.
