I can't catch a break! I had a cold last week and this week I had the flu. No fair! Luckily my parents are in town and could help with Elinor since Dave is traveling again. I feel really bad that they have been stuck inside for days and taking care of me and Elinor. But also I don't know what I would have done if they weren't here.
I'm feeling better today and hoping to get outside in the sun for just a little bit. Maybe even do a light flow of yoga. It's been days and my body is aching and needs to stretch. Elinor has been back to being wild again. We can usually calm her down but lately she is just everywhere. We happened to check her height the other day and think that might have something to do with how she has been.
Her poor little body was growing so fast and she was probably in pain! Her eating has slowed down now so maybe she will get a break.
I hope everyone is healthy and enjoying their first day of spring!
If you are on facebook please go vote on this picture of Elinor so we can win a trip to Disney! Thanks!

sick sick sick
I had the flu, then Elinor got a cold and just when I thought we were all getting better, I now have her cold. We need to stay productive around here but everyone needs to get better first! Dave and I were able to go take a CPR/first aid class this weekend. Our apartment is feeling smaller and smaller with everyday we are stuck inside.
I'm hoping I don't get the cold as bad as Elinor has had it. I need to be able to function so Dave can stop having to come home early from work. I feel like an awful mom laying around all day. Not to mention all the TV she has been watching. I have a bunch of projects and crafts that I want to do with Elinor...maybe tomorrow!

weekly positives
Last week was awful and then ended with me getting sick. I'm just now starting to feel better. I still have pictures I need to share from our trip but I haven't been in the mood to upload and edit them. I might need a break from blogging. I know our families love to be able to keep up with what is going on with us and Elinor, maybe a couple of friends too.
Instead of going into what's going on and being negative, I'm going to take a tip from my sister... She told me she bought a journal to write down her positives of the week. We tend to dwell on the negatives and I don't want to sink into that with so much going on.
*Elinor started singing and acting out the itsy bitsy spider this week. I cried. Dave and I were sitting talking while she was playing in front of us. I realized what she was doing and tapped Dave to look. We tried to get videos but haven't been able to yet. She started head, shoulders, knees and toes too.
*Elinor also began singing a special family lullaby that my family sings. We call it the uh huh song. She was with Dave way passed nap time and started humming it to herself. Again, I cried. I've been singing it to her since she was born and it is so amazing that she is singing it to herself now.
*Dave took such great care of not only me being so sick but completely took over everything for Elinor. I didn't have to worry or remind him to do anything. I'm with her all day, all the time so I'm not sure if he would remember snacks/potty/etc. He never asked and she rarely cried for me (only when she wanted milk). I love that guy so much!
*Of course we are all still so happy we have been able to see so much of our family recently. We will see you soon Grandmom!

my weekend
We have been crazy busy for weeks and it finally caught up with me. Thursday night we went to see The Hobbit. Before we left I started feeling sick. I felt awful the whole time and even considered going to lay in the car. The movie was so good though and I was able to last through the whole thing. Walking to the car I was in so much pain.
The next morning my throat was completely swollen and I couldn't move because my neck was in so much pain. Dave was leaving that day to go to Philadelphia to play a show. Luckily, my sister was in town again. She got Elinor up and played with her so I could sleep. I felt bad because our girls weekend was ruined by me not being able to leave my bed. I was able to get so much needed rest, which I haven't been able to get since early in my pregnancy. Courtney was here Friday and Saturday and took care of me and Elinor the whole time.
Courtney took this while I was sleeping. It's her favorite thing to do.
another one from Courtney while I was in bed.

sick baby
My brother just told me how he can't believe Elinor has barely been sick. Well this weekend she got a fever. It started Friday night and didn't end until Sunday night. I'm hoping she is over it now. I felt so bad. She would just whimper and roll around burning up. She would pop out of it every once and a while and get down to crawl. She was very slow at crawling and couldn't pull herself up. All she wanted to do was snuggle with me, nap and nurse. I'm glad she was still interested with wanting to eat. After a late afternoon nap on Sunday she woke up covered in sweat and her fever was finally gone.
We had so many plans this weekend since it was the first weekend we have been home in awhile but we cancelled everything and stayed home. The laundry didn't get done, the clothes never got put away but my baby feels better. I started feeling sick Sunday and poor Dave had to take care of both of us. Good thing he is the best and doesn't mind!
-I wrote this Sunday night and scheduled it for this morning. When Elinor woke up she was burning up again and just kept crying. She ended up sleeping until 1130! Still no other symptoms besides the fever. I'm hoping she starts to feel better soon!

sick and sick
Last Monday night I started feeling sick. We had an awful night between me feeling so bad and Elinor coughing. I thought we were feeling better that night but as soon as we went to bed it worse than the night before. She didn't sleep at all and was burning up. Finally Thursday and Friday we were better. With an exception of Wednesday night! We put Elinor down for the night. She started coughing so Dave went to check on her. He didn't come back right away and I heard her gasping for air. I ran in the room and he was holding her facing out and down, patting her on the back as she was gagging/gasping. Her face was red and purple. It was so scary! After him patting her back she finally got a good cough out, started blowing raspberries and fell straight to sleep. We got out the boppy so she could sleep more elevated than just on a pillow. She has been fine since then.
Saturday morning I woke up with stuffiness and running nose. I figured it was allergies since the weather is getting warmer. We went to a birthday party and came home by 6. I felt fine the whole time just allergy feeling. We were all sleepy and cuddled up right away for a family nap. We slept until 9! Well Dave and I did, Elinor ended up sleeping the rest of the night. When I woke up I was sweating with chills and a fever. The fever didn't go away until Monday. I feel like Ellie knew I was sick and only came to me when it was time to eat. I slept all of Sunday. I'm not sure if I just got something else or it was the same sickness. Either way it was awful and I still have a stuffy/runny nose.
So that is where we have been.
On one of our sick days. I could barely lift her so we laid on the ground.
So that is where we have been.

vacation
Today Elinor is 2 months! Tomorrow we go for her check up and then I'll post an update on her stats. She has to get shots :( I'm not looking forward to that at all.
Saturday we leave for a little vacation. My parents are going to Florida and invited us. We didn't think we would be able to go but then decided since I'm still on leave we might as well. Plus it will be fun to spend some more time with them and have some extra hands to play with Ellie. Dave is still not feeling well and so I've been trying my best to take care of him and Elinor without them being near each other. We thought he had food poisoning but since he has been so sick and had a fever for a couple of days I think we were wrong.
She's in my arms now and just fell asleep so I'm going to try and lay her down so I can finally eat lunch...at 4pm. Hopefully I will have some time to schedule some posts for while we are gone!

ehh
Friday night Dave picked me up from work because I was so achy and sick feeling. I came home and got right in bed. He had made me some sleepy time tea and when he came back upstairs I was already half asleep
see my awesome roots??
By Saturday morning I was feeling a lot better. We hung out around the house till late afternoon then headed to Boston so Dave could find some boots and jeans he wanted. We also made a stop at JoAnn fabrics and I got some really pretty yarn to start a blanket. Oh and 2 new hooks because I broke some.

It was snowing off and on all day. Of course when we were almost home it started snowing pretty bad and the road got really bad quick. A car cut Dave off and slammed on their brakes so he tried to slow down and we slid. The car behind us couldn't slow down fast enough and hit us. Everyone was fine but Dave's bumper is messed up and he can't open his trunk (which is awful because he is always having tons of boxes to mail).
Today he had to go to New Jersey for band practice. He is going to Japan very soon on tour to play bass for another band (not Blacklisted). I'm so nervous after last night about him traveling but he will be back later tonight.

hot chocolate and pumpkin muffins
I have been so sick all week! Tuesday night I started feeling awful and it lasted until Friday afternoon when I was finally able to get out of bed. I have so many pictures I've been meaning to post but I will break them up through the next couple of days.
While my mom was still here one night I was making hot chocolate. I put the chocolate in the almond milk and look what I made..
That night Dave cut open that pumpkin and I made Vegan Pumpkin Muffins
