Magic Kingdom on halloween

We took a day off after Hollywood Studios to swim and rest. I have some pictures from that day but I will skip ahead to Halloween first.

my parents came with us. It was fun for them to see Elinor go crazy over everything.

To go to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party you need special tickets. At 7pm anyone that doesn't have a special wrist band has to exit the park. If you do have a special ticket, you can come as early as 4pm. I'm glad a friend told us or we would have came at 7 and missed out on having more time to check out rides and meeting characters. I think since the switch over and time of day it was perfect. Every ride was only 5 minutes. Even to meet the princesses there was only a 15 min wait, when we were told it's normally over 60min.

AFter riding some rides, including Dumbo 3x (Elinor's favorite), we set off to find food. We ate veggie burgers at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe. The veggie burgers were really good maybe just because I was starving. Turns out eating there worked out perfect for us. The parade started at our end. As soon as we finished eating, we moved closer to the street where a super nice family let us stand in front of them. Their kids were older. The girl was dressed as Cinderella and Elinor was in awe of her. She kept petting her and holding her hand. The parade was great. Elinor was jumping up and down and waving to everyone.
Elinor loved every ride at Magic Kingdom. First one we tried was It's a Small World. I think that's the perfect ride to ease into.

After the parade we made our way to the front of the castle to watch the fireworks. There was a show on the stage in front of the castle first followed by a light/movie show projected on the castle. It was all so amazing and I'm surprised Elinor was so into it. Same with the fireworks. I thought she would be a little nervous but she loved them.
"more dumbo? more dumbo??"

Even though there was trick or treating stations set up throughout the park, we couldn't have any of the candy they were passing out (no vegan friendly candy). If you have food allergies you could go to Town Hall, tell them your allergy and they would give you candy that you can have. By the time we went they were out of any diary/egg free candy so they wrote us a $25 gift certificate for the candy store!

By that time another parade was about to start. We decided to skip it and walk around with some friends. The lines for trick or treating were empty so our friends went through just 2 and had full bags. Also all rides had super short lines at that time. There was a dance party with Woody and Jessie from Toy Story going on that we were trying to find. We finally out it inside a building (we thought it was supposed to be in the middle of the street). We walked in to Jessie, Woody and Bullseye dancing to club songs with toddlers. There was another little Tinkerbell dancing. Watching her for awhile helped Elinor warm up. They ended up holding hands and dancing together with all the characters. My cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing. We walked out at just about midnight and Elinor was still going strong. I think she was on a dancing with all her favs high.

Sorry this was so long! It was such a fun night. I would totally recommend going for Halloween. They have Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party other days leading up to Halloween. Make sure you get there at 4pm to take full advantage of the park. Also go to Guston's Tavern for LeFou's Brew. It's frozen apple juice topped with marshmallow foam. We asked if it had any dairy in it and they gave us the ingredients to check and it was vegan! These drinks are sooooo delicious and refreshing.

 Photopass...
Rapunzel was the best. She was so sweet and tried to make Elinor feel comfortable. Elinor had no idea who she was but she went up to her by herself.
