Happy Birthday Dave

Saturday was Dave's birthday. We woke up and I whispered to Elinor to tell him happy birthday. It was the sweetest little sleepy voice. We didn't have any set plans. I made him his favorite tofu egg sandwich and he had used his birthday gift of an ice coffee maker the night before so we could have cold brew coffee with breakfast. Dave is forever obsessed with finding cold brew coffee where ever we go. I found the Hario MCPN-14B Water Brew Coffee Pot on amazon. It was pretty basic and had good reviews. So far he has loved it.

We ran a few errands, went to the mall to check out UNIQLO again. This time we bought some things. It is going to be hard going to the mall now and not buying everything from there! So many cute clothes for all of us. It's like H&M and American Apparel but from Japan. If that makes any sense.

Later that day we met up with Pop pop,Cindy and Grandma (Cindy's mom. Elinor decided all on her own that it was grandma) for a birthday dinner at Harvest. We have never been there but heard they had veg options. It is always a struggle going out to eat with any of our family members and finding a place that has anything for us to eat besides a salad. Harvest was amazing. We all were able to get something different and even try a few appetizers. Dave had the spicy tofu stir fry, Elinor had the kids spaghetti and I had the pan seared beet steak. Everything was so good. Dave wasn't into the beet steak because he doesn't like beets but I thought it was delicious. The kids portions were huge! Elinor ate a ton and still had leftovers to bring home.

We went back to Pop pops for vegan cupcakes from Whole Foods. Then Dave and I went to see Godzilla. We both liked it even though Dave wanted to see more of Godzilla. We came back to collect a very sleepy Elinor and went home. It was such a great laid back day.

I tinkerbell!

I had bought Elinor a Tinkerbell costume at the JBF sale in Sept. I also had bought a bumble bee costume which she has been already wearing pretty often. I finally pulled out the Tink costume the other day for her to wear to Halloween events. I put it on her and sent her to our laundry/storage/junk room to go check it out.


She has been wearing it just about everyday. This little one loves dressing up.

We went out for dinner the other night. Normally waiting for a pizza isn't that long of a wait but when it's dinner time and you have a hungry, close to bed time baby, it seems like FOREVER! I forgot Elinor's snack cup and toys in the car. Dave or I could've ran to the car but why when I have a brush in my bag??



Also, I have never seen her do this before.

We have been traveling a lot lately. I try to keep Elinor entertained when she is awake. Poor Dave has to sit in the front while Ellie and I party in the backseat.

We took this video when we went to Longwood on Father's Day. Elinor sat and watched the water jump back and forth for awhile until a lady ran in front of us.

 This is from our second swim lesson. I need to take a new video. Now she moves her body like a wave while kicking. We have been going on our own a little to get her more used to the water. Plus she loves it!

Someone has a lot to say nowadays!

Now that Elinor eats everything we do, she gets so frantic if she can't have what we have. We went to jamba juice the other day to get an all fruit smoothie. As we were sitting there drinking our smoothies she went wild grabbing for our cups and fussing. Thinking she wouldn't know what to do anyway Dave held the cup to her. She grabbed the straw, put it in her mouth and started sucking it down. When we tried to make her slow down she had a meltdown. We have a sippy cup for her to drink water but she hasn't figured out how to use it. After we realized she can drink out of a straw we bought a sippy cup with a straw.

Here is Elinor's new trick. She very quietly says babababa while she does it but Dave calls it her fishy face. Also the rocking back and forth is new. When she gets excited or when music is on she will start doing it.
I feel like now that her firsts are just rolling out everyday, there will be so many new videos.

When I uploaded the lemon video from yesterday, I realized there was another video I had never posted. There was also one that I'm not sure what it is but it didn't upload to vimeo right. I will have to look through Dave's videos to see if it's one of his. I hope we didn't lose a good one!

 Here are a couple of videos of Elinor. The first one Dave took and texted it to me so it isn't the best. He recently dropped his phone and lost all of his videos when he got a new one. I'm going to pretend there weren't any other videos on there.
Also I'm late on her 5 month post! Hopefully I will get that up this weekend!

Tomorrow we are off work and going to work with daddy! I'm sure we will just be in the way but it will be nice to be with him for the day.
