Just Between Friends Sale

If you follow me on instagram, then you already know all the deals I got on Wednesday at the JBF sale in Philly. It is like no consignment sale I've ever been to. It is huge! Having everything you would need. Last sale, I barely looked through the clothes since we still had a ton of hand me downs. This time I really needed spring/summer clothes. I had low expectations of the clothes that would be there. I was so surprised with how many super cute and at times brand new shirts, dresses and shorts. I even found some dress up clothes, dance leotard with a tutu and 3 pairs of shoes.
They have made some adjustments from the fall sale. Everything ran smoother and I found things were more organized. The only thing I couldn't find was little legos! There were plenty of the bigger ones. Maybe I was missing something though. The best adjustment was the lines. I remember waiting for well over an hour. My new friend I made in line (hi if your reading!) told me they updated their computers and program. We waited for just under 40 minutes I think and we were scooting along the whole time. It's the worst to be waiting forever and not moving.

Swapdom

I don't have much space to myself in this house. Dave has his office and the attic and everything else in the house belongs to Elinor. Next to my side of the bed, I have a corner. Right now there are a stack of Elinor's clothes that I've been meaning to bring to a consignment store. Yep, I'm that lazy and my only space isn't clearing out.

I was contacted by Swapdom to try out their new features which includes kids gear! I grabbed a couple of outfits from my pile, took pictures of them and uploaded them to my Swapdom profile. It took only minutes to upload them. Now that my clothes are up, I can start searching for other kids gear that I might be interested in. Once I find something that I want, I click request. The next step is to tell what I would like to offer for what I requested. Then I wait or start another search.

Besides Children's clothes, you can also list toys/games, baby gear, accessories/clothes/shoes for men and women. I'm really excited about this site since we are on a major spending freeze in our house.

Just Between Friends Sale

I had an opportunity to check out the Just Between Friends Sale yesterday. It was awesome! I've never been to a consignment sale on the level as this one. Like I said a few days ago, I've been searching Craigslist for a few things. I found just about everything I had on my Elinor list plus more for only $125!

I was a little overwhelmed when I first walked into the hall but I quickly realized everything was completely organized and grouped together with big easy to see/read signs. Better than most actual stores I go into. People were walking in with Grandma carts, wagons, huge bags and even laundry baskets with belts tied to the end so they could drag them. I was holding a tiny purse. I headed straight to the bikes/cars and found the Step 2 push buggy I've been looking for for $15. After seeing everyone with their wagons, I didn't know what I was going to do with all of my goods. When I turned to scan the room I noticed holding section. You get a number matched with your things and can keep bringing more finds to add to your pile. How easy is that?? So I checked the buggy at the holding area and grabbed an outdoor slide for $5 on my way. My favorite find was the wooden kitchen set for only $25! Another big item I've been searching Craigslist for a reasonably priced one.

All of this! even scored the area rug for Elinor's playroom.

I didn't look much at the clothes since we are still pretty stocked with hand me downs but my glance through I saw multiple coats and dresses that looked brand new that I really wanted to grab. I mostly stuck with my list. Oh and guys, Halloween costumes! We went so overboard with Halloween last year that we didn't really have any ideas this year. We said maybe a bumble bee...maybe tinkerbell or minnie mouse. Well, the first rack of costumes I looked at...bee...tinkerbell...minnie...all in a row and all her size. I grabbed the bee and tinkerbell.

I'm lucky I was able to fit all my finds in the car!

If you are in the Philly area plan a trip to the Just Between Friends Sale this weekend and check it out. Today it is $3 admission but Friday it is free! Friday is also a perfect day to bring the kids and beat the crowds and lines. There will be even be face painting from 11-2 for free!

One of things we didn't get much of was baby books. This baby loves to look and listen to books too. I bought a couple on amazon and then realized how cheap books are at thrift stores. Why didn't I think of that before?! Since then Elinor has a nice collection of books.

I also recently found out about an awesome second hand store near by. We went in once to two little monkeys to look around but didn't get anything. I liked them on their facebook page and then forgot about them. A couple of days ago in my feed a super cute snail rocking toy came up for sale from there. I realized when they get bigger or highly wanted items they post it on their facebook. It was posted that morning, we were there by that afternoon and had it in Ellie's room that night!
