Hope everyone has a happy and safe 4th! We are just hanging at home today. We have lots of veggie dogs, veggie burgers and rice ice cream for after nap. Can you believe it has been a year since we moved to Philly??! Where did that year go?

Philly In Movement
Yesterday we were invited to come check out Philly In Movement. Elinor has a lot of energy and loved it there! While the team was showing off their skills, Elinor was doing tumbles back and forth on a mat. She even started reaching back like she was going to do a backwalk over.
Sara, the owner, is so friendly and engaging with the kids. Philly in movement looks like a great place for all levels of gymnastics. They really break down each age group/level. The tumble class that Elinor had taken before was 6months-5 yr olds. I think with being in her right age group she would really get more skills and one on one.
Thank you to Paige and Philly In Movement for this super fun event!
and thank you to Happy Family for sponsoring. Elinor loved her "smoothie" and cookies!

"I can't do it!" but when I stood behind her just barely touching her back, she got half way up the wall!
There are open gym times during the summer and summer classes. They even have summer camps and host birthday parties. I will have to keep that in mind for my poor December baby.
I just found out Philly In Movement has a Groupon up right now for $25 for $50 value, which equals 4 adult open gym or 5 children's open gym. It says limited time only so hurry and grab one!Thank you to Paige and Philly In Movement for this super fun event!

Just Between Friends Sale
I had an opportunity to check out the Just Between Friends Sale yesterday. It was awesome! I've never been to a consignment sale on the level as this one. Like I said a few days ago, I've been searching Craigslist for a few things. I found just about everything I had on my Elinor list plus more for only $125!
I was a little overwhelmed when I first walked into the hall but I quickly realized everything was completely organized and grouped together with big easy to see/read signs. Better than most actual stores I go into. People were walking in with Grandma carts, wagons, huge bags and even laundry baskets with belts tied to the end so they could drag them. I was holding a tiny purse. I headed straight to the bikes/cars and found the Step 2 push buggy I've been looking for for $15. After seeing everyone with their wagons, I didn't know what I was going to do with all of my goods. When I turned to scan the room I noticed holding section. You get a number matched with your things and can keep bringing more finds to add to your pile. How easy is that?? So I checked the buggy at the holding area and grabbed an outdoor slide for $5 on my way. My favorite find was the wooden kitchen set for only $25! Another big item I've been searching Craigslist for a reasonably priced one.
I didn't look much at the clothes since we are still pretty stocked with hand me downs but my glance through I saw multiple coats and dresses that looked brand new that I really wanted to grab. I mostly stuck with my list. Oh and guys, Halloween costumes! We went so overboard with Halloween last year that we didn't really have any ideas this year. We said maybe a bumble bee...maybe tinkerbell or minnie mouse. Well, the first rack of costumes I looked at...bee...tinkerbell...minnie...all in a row and all her size. I grabbed the bee and tinkerbell.
I'm lucky I was able to fit all my finds in the car!
If you are in the Philly area plan a trip to the Just Between Friends Sale this weekend and check it out. Today it is $3 admission but Friday it is free! Friday is also a perfect day to bring the kids and beat the crowds and lines. There will be even be face painting from 11-2 for free!
All of this! even scored the area rug for Elinor's playroom.

Longwood gardens on Father's day
So I totally missed doing a post for Father's day! I'm sorry Dave we love you and you are the best ever!
In real life though we didn't miss it. We were in Philly for the weekend. Dave isn't the typical dad and wanted to do something we could all enjoy. He decided Longwood garden would be perfect. Normally this place is packed but I guess Father's don't like to look and plants and flowers on their special day. What was even more fun was Dave's mom was able to come with us! She also gave us free passes (thanks grandma)!
I'm posting this from my phone so I will add links and maybe some descriptions below pictures later. The pictures are all from me, Dave and his mom.

Terrain
I have so many pictures to go through and post but I've been so lazy/sick. Every time we go to Philly we try to make a stop at Terrain. We dream of living in a barn and decorating it exactly like this place. Before we moved to Salem Dave looked at a barn house on a bunch of land with trails and little ponds. It was in our price range but not near the train. We are still sad about not getting it and making it work.
As soon as we walked in Elinor fell asleep. It's so soothing in there. We both said it must be so relaxing to work there.

weekend in Philly
We had left Thursday after Elinor's Dr appointment. Since her first set of shots she had just slept more I thought we would be good driving right after. Well this time she just wanted to cry and eat. It made for an interesting ride (me leaning over the carseat to feed her). Friday morning she was a little better and we headed to the city for the day for some shopping and lots of eating.

As we were leaving we realized we lost Sophie. So we had to make a trip to Babies R us. I also picked up some teething tablets which kind of seem to work. Between the shots and teething she had a couple of melt downs.
Saturday, while Dave was at practice, we went with Dave's mom to see cousin Joey's baseball game. She watched a lot of it just sitting in in our laps.
Good game Joey!
Meeting Comet for the first time
By Sunday she was completely back to herself. We spent some time with Grandma then ran some errands before going to Grandpas.
Ellie with Grandpa
Playing with Uncle Joe
This was her spot most of the day with Uncle Michael
Cousins! Missing Lauren though
The boys and their kids
I'm glad we can make trips to visit pretty often. I'm so sad we can't visit my family as much. I realized during this trip that Elinor hasn't met any of her McCormick cousins. I hope to make a trip to Ohio as soon as we can to visit. It's so hard finding time that works for everyone. Someday we will!
