touring daddy

I started this blog when Dave was touring a lot. I needed something to do and wanted to share pictures with out of town family that didn't have social media. I cringe looking back and have thought about deleting everything from before I was pregnant. But it is nice to look back on an exact date to see where we were or what we were doing even if it is embarrassing. Especially for someone like me, who has a terrible memory.

It was easy to blog while he was gone. It gave me something to do. I found so many awesome blogs and new friends through here. Now with Elinor it has become harder to find time to write. Dave is currently on tour and I have barely opened up my computer. I have been around on instagram if you are on there! (fourthstpayphone)

 baby soup day! She needed to wear the one on the left, then needed a tub wearing. She was very upset she couldn't keep it on since it was wet. So she picked out a new baby soup.

This time has already been harder than any other time. Elinor is old enough to realize what's going on. She was a wreck the day he left. We've had some fun times and great friends helping out (thanks Murphys!) but last night she cried for daddy. ugh! It hurt so bad. I know it crushed him when I told him.

I tried so hard today to keep her busy with activity after activity and it seemed to help. Fewer meltdowns and more fun. Any ideas to get through our days?? I need it to warm up and spend a day at the park in fresh air!

unmotivated

I'm so unmotivated lately! I have pictures I need to post but I can't make myself go through them. I'm even slacking over at pint size style.

Maybe a little of it is because Dave leaves for tour on Sunday. We are trying to spend as much family time together before he goes. We were also trying to get Elinor on a good night time/bed time schedule so I wouldn't have too hard of a time while he is gone.
Within 2 days we had her going down perfect. Since she had started crawling and being on the move it has been hard getting her to settle down. As soon as you laid her down she was giggling standing up and grabbing for anything she could. Our routine now is get home, one of us cooks while the other plays with her, eat dinner, one of us bathes her while the other one cleans, read some books, nurse her and then she passes out. She also has slept through the night everynight! Finally!
I hope she sticks to this while he is gone. I hope that I can stick to this while he is gone!

Dave in Japan part 2

Once he gets home I will post pictures he took with the real camera but for now here are a couple he has sent.

He is supposed to come home tomorrow! yay so much shorter than regular tours but I'm nervous his flight will be cancelled. It started snowing here this morning and isn't stopping till Thursday. I just can't wait to see him!

I love that last sign. He keeps showing me silly signs. One is inappropriate to post and I can not figure out what it could possibly mean. 

His sleep schedule is so off (he was falling asleep standing up right before they had to play today) and the time difference is making it hard to have time to talk. But it seems like things are going well and he is having fun so far.

Friday night Dave picked me up from work because I was so achy and sick feeling. I came home and got right in bed. He had made me some sleepy time tea and when he came back upstairs I was already half asleep

By Saturday morning I was feeling a lot better. We hung out around the house till late afternoon then headed to Boston so Dave could find some boots and jeans he wanted. We also made a stop at JoAnn fabrics and I got some really pretty yarn to start a blanket. Oh and 2 new hooks because I broke some.

It was snowing off and on all day. Of course when we were almost home it started snowing pretty bad and the road got really bad quick. A car cut Dave off and slammed on their brakes so he tried to slow down and we slid. The car behind us couldn't slow down fast enough and hit us. Everyone was fine but Dave's bumper is messed up and he can't open his trunk (which is awful because he is always having tons of boxes to mail).

Today he had to go to New Jersey for band practice. He is going to Japan very soon on tour to play bass for another band (not Blacklisted). I'm so nervous after last night about him traveling but he will be back later tonight.

Dave on tour part 2

He just sent me a huge file of pictures from the last couple of days. I'm not too sure what or where anything really is. He hasn't had too much luck with having access to internet when I'm awake or available so I can only talk to him through blackberry messenger.  BBM is awesome when he is on tour but sometimes I just want to see him (via skype).
