I like food

I wanted to share this cute protein reminder. Vegans are not protein deprived! Stop asking how we get our protein! I don't know where this image is originally from but I got it from here
This week we were in Massachusetts. We had to visit some of our favorite places while there. Flying Saucer Pizza in Salem, MA is awesome but even better, they have a new menu. We tried out the Silurian, evoo and chopped garlic, Teese cheddar, mac n' Teese casserole, kale, sundried tomato. Insanely good!
tofu fro-yo from Kushco Bistro with starberries and oreos mixed in. Elinor probably ate more than half. She was so excited it was pink!
The best cold brew coffee from Gusto Cafe in Beverly, MA.
Life Alive!! So excited we got to eat it twice. The emperor with tofu and no cheese. Always my favorite. Elinor loves the vegan kiddie quesadilla and a pink smoothie (eros alive)
The cambridge location has a great kids space on the lower level. I sat with her at the little table while Dave and his friend sat at a nearby table so we could all still talk. It was one of the most pleasant dining experience. She would sit and eat then play again. I even read her a few books while she finished up her food.

We went to Veggie Galaxy in Cambridge, MA too. We only ate treats but for some reason my boston cream pie disappeared before I got a picture. Elinor tried the strawberry ice cream. I managed to get a taste of it before she firmly told me that it is her ice cream. For having a baby in a diner super late at night, everyone was friendly and helpful! Thank you guys for making us feel comfortable with being bad parents and having our child up late at a show!

the loft

I was trying to free up some space on my phone recently. I found pictures on one of my camera apps from last year. I was so happy looking through all my tiny Elinor pictures when I came to our last apt, the loft in MA. I miss that place so much! I realized I never shared our space on here. Excuse the low quality

We had a great storage space in the basement, a parking lot and a few great neighbors in the building. Being on the fifth floor sometimes wasn't fun but having an elevator helped, especially with a stroller! I loved Elinor's room so much and having that open space to be in the kitchen and watch Elinor in the living room. But now that she is bigger, nothing beats a separate playroom!

One of these days I will get around to taking pictures of our new place. Elinor's bedroom and playroom are always the best and get the most attention. I'm slowly getting around to our bedroom.

moving on

I was thinking today that I might just give up on blogging. I've been so busy and having a hard time finding a free moment. But I love having this place to look through old pictures and even to see what we were doing last year this time or even a few years ago. Yes, I have all the pictures saved but here there is a story with the pictures.

We are moving to Philadelphia in a month! We started thinking about moving a year ago and now it is almost time. I'm so excited and nervous. I love love love living here. I would love to raise Elinor here, where I know where all the parks, museums, farms, and everything kid friendly is, where we are down the street from the ocean! But I know the best thing to do for us is to be closer to family. We will find new mommy and nanny friends and eventually find all the fun places to go.

A few weeks ago is when the nerves started coming in. When I moved here, I was completely over where I was. It was only me and I was ready for anything. Now with our whole little family, making a move is scary. Even though Elinor is little, the move will matter to her. She won't have her little friends, we will be in a new house that she will have to get used to. I know she will adjust and we will find new little friends (it won't be the same as her Henri though!).

I have so much going on/running through my mind and I'm not sure how often I will be around here before we move. I hope to squeeze in all of our favorite things to do here in the next few weeks and maybe get some pictures along the way.

These pictures are from a few days ago at the beach. Some kids were playing in the water and I am SO surprised Elinor didn't try to. She just wanted to run in the grass and point to every dog.

nemo

We had to come to Philadelphia this weekend and missed all the snow. I wanted Elinor to play in it! At least it will still be there when we get back. We had planned to come home Sunday but we were nervous. We are going to head back today. I am hoping the highways are fine.

This is all we got in Philadelphia.

I know a lot of people hit had a lot to deal with a lot. I looked it up and there were outages in our area. I am thankful that we were somewhere safe and warm with electricity.

Wish us luck on our drive home!

tunnel

Every since Elinor was a baby when we go through a tunnel she opens her eyes as big as she can until we get out. If you didn't know, there are a lot of tunnels going through Boston. I was sitting in the back with her this weekend and remembered to take a video. The video I took was long. Like for the entire tunnel and her eyes are huge the whole time. I wanted to post the whole thing but most people probably wouldn't watch it to the end. We also added a Blacklisted song to it because we thought it was funny.

There were Southern accents on the radio as I drove home

Last weekend I took a quick trip to visit some of my family. I didn't have a lot of time there so I didn't get a chance to meet up with any friends. I didn't even get to see all of my family :(...Sorry Cincy people!
I haven't seen my 3 yr old niece since Thanksgiving so I was really excited to see how big she was and all the new things she could do. (She is the little girl I'm chasing in my header)
My brother and her came to get me from the airport. She was so excited and jumping but was so shy to talk. By the time we went out to eat she was telling me so many stories. I stayed with them and every morning I woke up to her yelling Caaaaiitlin. My Brother said after I left she asked if I was going to be there in the morning :(
We took her on a little shopping spree. I could shop forever with this kid. She wanted to try everything on. Here are her skinny jeans Nana ended up getting her.
I didn't get a good outfit picture of myself but here is one a little more close up of the shirt. I tried to ask Dave it looked alright by this picture ha

I didn't get to my parents until my last day. This trip was so rushed but it was nice seeing everyone.
My mom also pulled out pictures while I was there. I took pictures of some from my phone.

My Mom with my brother maybe 37 yrs ago?
We had just moved to New Mexico from Boston. My brother went to a basketball camp and we were all out of place in our Celtics shirts. (L-R my sister, me, Michael Cooper, My brother)
