moving on

I was thinking today that I might just give up on blogging. I've been so busy and having a hard time finding a free moment. But I love having this place to look through old pictures and even to see what we were doing last year this time or even a few years ago. Yes, I have all the pictures saved but here there is a story with the pictures.

We are moving to Philadelphia in a month! We started thinking about moving a year ago and now it is almost time. I'm so excited and nervous. I love love love living here. I would love to raise Elinor here, where I know where all the parks, museums, farms, and everything kid friendly is, where we are down the street from the ocean! But I know the best thing to do for us is to be closer to family. We will find new mommy and nanny friends and eventually find all the fun places to go.

A few weeks ago is when the nerves started coming in. When I moved here, I was completely over where I was. It was only me and I was ready for anything. Now with our whole little family, making a move is scary. Even though Elinor is little, the move will matter to her. She won't have her little friends, we will be in a new house that she will have to get used to. I know she will adjust and we will find new little friends (it won't be the same as her Henri though!).

I have so much going on/running through my mind and I'm not sure how often I will be around here before we move. I hope to squeeze in all of our favorite things to do here in the next few weeks and maybe get some pictures along the way.

These pictures are from a few days ago at the beach. Some kids were playing in the water and I am SO surprised Elinor didn't try to. She just wanted to run in the grass and point to every dog.

goodbye Salem and an app

It's only Tuesday and I'm exhausted. We have been so busy with still moving little things and getting everything set up in the new house. We finally got internet and cable turned on at the new house! I love it there so much. I get depressed now when we have to just stop by the old house to pick something up. Don't get me wrong I love Salem and everything around the old place but our apartment there compared to this one is awful. It's funny how sad I was when we first decided to move and now I couldn't have asked for a better new house.

My mom is in town and being such a big help cleaning up the old house, making us dinner and organizing things at the new place. Our shopping trip this weekend was so much fun. The baby's closet is starting to fill up now! Friday we have another ultrasound so hopefully it is still looking like a girl or we are going to be busy exchanging all these dresses and pink ruffly clothes. This weekend I did end up getting my hair cut but the lady for some reason chopped one side too short and it looks awkward but oh well.

In other news blackberry finally has an app like instagram. It of course isn't as good but at least it's something. It does take FOREVER to put a filter on a picture. Of course the only pics I have on my phone are of Dorie so here are a couple of the filters...

Waiting for my mom at the airport (discotek)
Beach day! (the shore)
Ballet class meeting (the times)
After ballet watching the big girls (35mm)

The app is called Filterlab. It is only $.99 right now so right now I think it is reasonable. Though I would pay a little more to have it not be so slow but I don't know if that is possible?

happy 4th!

I hope everyone is having a safe and fun weekend. We are moving all weekend with some help of Garvey, Lynn and Dave's dad and Cindy. This is how my weekend is looking
squeezing everyone and everything in the elevator
starting to set things back up at the new place

Probably less eventful and fun than your weekend but I'm so excited to get everything in and start setting up. Hopefully in a couple days we will have the couches and bed there! Tonight is Salem's fireworks so I think after a couple of trips we will pick up some food and sit at our house, watch the fireworks and eat like we did last year.  Yay fireworks!

17 weeks

I kind of am getting a real bump now! I went to H&M and found some really comfy maternity clothes. Once I put them on you could see a bump. I guess in my normal clothes it doesn't show my belly off much. The selection at the store isn't very big but what they have is cute and affordable. I heard the only one that has a maternity section in Boston is the Downtown Crossing one. If anyone has seen it at any other Boston location let me know!

Between having more family in town this weekend and moving I will be pretty busy. I want to move my bed to the new place ASAP! and then slowly move everything else in. Even though we have a month to move I'm too excited for the new place to take my time...sorry Dave. We packed a little lastnight after work but packing is so hard. I never know where to start and what needs to stay for now. I need to just commit to a whole closet or shelf and say ok this is going in the box and if I happen to need anything in here it can wait a week or so.

What are your plans for this weekend and the 4th?! Any friends wanna come have a help us move in party??? ;)

flowers

Dave just left for a show this weekend out of town. I was planning on going but decided yesterday I would rather stay here and pack/clean. We have so much to do before we move. I'm hoping to go through everything as I pack and get rid of things I don't really need. The last 2 times we have moved have been rushed. This morning he got up early and helped me out with some of the cleaning. He also made me tofu scramble!
5 minutes after Dave left, I heard the door open again. He walked in with these
Since I was a little sad I wasn't going anymore and he kept joking around saying ok go get ready now lets go. It made me feel so much better. Now I have a pretty center piece to clean around and make the house smell good.
Now to get to work!

packing up

I think we are going to be moving! I've been so stressed to know one way or the other just so we could either stop looking or not. Like I said before we are sad to be leaving Salem. There are so many places to walk to that we love. Dave is so close to work now but we are moving in between where we both work. I think it will be for the better when the baby comes, since the baby will be coming to work with me.
We went to the town we are moving to and explored a little bit. The beach was beautiful and not too far from us. There was also a marina even closer. It was full of little old ladies and some fishermen. Hopefully we will eventually find little restaurants and coffee shops there too.
We haven't signed the lease yet but hopefully it will get here soon (and i hope I'm not jinxing us!). Either way we are ready to be out of this place. I want less stairs (we have 3 floors) and a washer and dryer in our apartment! I'm planning for now to use cloth diapers. It would be a lot easier to do it with washer and dryer in the apartment.

Anyway I started working on another baby blanket today but ran out of the yarn I was using. We are also almost out of food. We have used the last of almost everything this weekend. I am in need of a grocery/craft store run. It might have to wait till tomorrow though. Today I am just too lazy to get dressed and go out.
