miss you

Dave dropped my mom off at the airport yesterday morning. I was so sad. I wish we lived closer and Elinor would be able to see her and my dad all the time. Elinor took to my mom right away. We were able to have a date night and not worry at all while we were gone. We all had so much fun baking, eating, cooking, eating, talking makeup and cleaning and eating. Apparently when we have guests, I stuff them the entire time. I learned it from my mom.

I wish we took more pictures. These two never stop moving. I really think Elinor is going to have the same personality as her grandma. 

I was showing my mom pinterest explaining how it worked. As I was showing her I realized, oh she already does this/has told me this tip before. Any cleaning/fixing anything tip ever on pinterest I swear comes straight from my mom. Now makeup...my mom is just learning. I only recently learned how to do my makeup and the same with my sister. But even though she just started she gave me a ton of makeup tips and products that I didn't know.

This was the 3rd year in a row my mom has been in Boston in November. It is so funny how much has changed. I miss you mom and love you! and you have to bring dad next time!

Castle Island

Yesterday we went to Castle Island in South Boston. My parents grew up right near there and have so many stories/memories about hanging there as kids, teenagers, taking their babies there and now grandbabies. Dave had never been and loved it. It was such a nice afternoon. We even met up with some of my mom's childhood friends.

My mom was supposed to come Thursday but with the bad weather her flight was cancelled. She was able to get rescheduled to Friday afternoon. It worked out because Elinor and I were sick and my mom wasn't feeling well Thursday morning. By yesterday afternoon I was feeling better but poor Ellie still wasn't 100%. We headed out to the airport. When we got inside Elinor was excited to walk around the airport (she's a full on walker now! more on that later) and explore. Then Muck (my mom) came out! I had planned on Elinor walking to her so my mom could see her do it. Instead my mom came out a different door then we were waiting at and Elinor refused to show off her walking. Oh and I didn't take any pictures. It was still so exciting to see my mom since we haven't seen her since July!

We came home and made dinner. Elinor warmed up quickly to my mom showing off her walking, dancing and yelling. Can't wait for our long weekend together!

Last day of vacation

On the day we left we just spent some time with my parents...and eating. We thought about maybe going to a park but decided to just stay at the house. It was a good idea. I wanted Elinor to have some play time and normal nap before we got on the plane.

Adventure Aquarium

This weekend we were in Philadelphia. We have been trying to make our weekend trips there fun for Elinor, even though she won't remember much. She loves being out and on the go. Friday we went to the Adventure Aquarium in Camden NJ with Granmom. I haven't been to another aquarium besides the New England one in a long time. I really liked this one. They had music playing throughout and it was easy to get to each tank and see. I'm used to waiting for huge groups of people in the way the whole time. They even had a nursing room. Someone is super nosey and it is getting so hard to feed her in public now.

 She was napping when we got there. We had to wake her up to see everything. 

Family

We drove to Philly last weekend for just Saturday for a family reunion. Actually we were in New Jersey but we did go to Grandma's house first. It was so nice to meet more of Dave's family and introduce Elinor to everyone. Everywhere we go ,even on the train, Elinor think everyone is there to see her. As soon as we walked in and everyone was giving her so much attention she was so happy the whole day. I think her favorite though was Dave's Cousin's Daughter who is 3. Ellie loves kids!
