Since moving on to a new career path, I've kind of abandoned my Etsy shop. I have been sitting on a stack of hats to photograph and post that are all still sitting on my desk. I even have a couple of half made things that Elinor has taken over (Rapunzel hat/hair that she interchanges with Elsa hair).

I just don't have the time or energy to make anything. I was liking randomly making things during nap time and selling through Facebook and Instagram. Once I started my Etsy I felt pressured to do more and push it when really it isn't what I want.

I will still make things when I get a chance or if I get a request but for now I am just going to let my Etsy run until everything is expired or sold. So if you see something you want, grab it now or email me with a offer!

DIY presents

I decided to make presents for a lot of my friends and family. Great idea but I should've started a lot sooner. I've been crocheting so many things that my fingers hurt. Plus making things for all the 6-7 year olds in my life is stressful. They all know what they want and will tell you if they aren't happy. So much pressure!

Elinor is so interested in what I'm doing. She picks up my hooks and pokes the yarn ball with it. Then she yells "yay! I did it!". I looked up finger knitting to show her. I think she's too little but with some help from mom, it should work. She is always so proud of projects she does. Dave was gone all day yesterday. When he got home she grabbed his hand to show him everything she had made during our day. Including the Christmas tree that has been up for weeks, just in case he forgot.

I have a few more things to work on. They may be late but I will finish them! Then I can start working on my Etsy again. I have some ideas for the store from all the gifts I've been making.

playing in the rain and sleeping through the night

We are pretty boring this week. I'm trying to get some projects done during naps which doesn't leave time to write at all. It is raining today and is supposed to for the next few days. We have a bunch of possible weekend plans so I hope it clears up!

The biggest news is that Elinor has slept multiple nights in her own bed! A few weeks ago Dave bought her a new mattress. Since then she slowly has been sleeping longer each night in her room. I woke up this monring at 740am and felt so well rested! She normally gets in bed around 2am and just wants to nurse all night. After almost 2 years of that I am starting to want my space at night.

Dave had gone away this weekend for some shows. When he came back Elinor wouldn't let him out of her sight. 

Maybe she will start going down at a normal time. We have never a strict schedule but we have been trying to have a pretty consistent night time routine. It was going well for a few days but then she thinks she is going to miss something and refuses to settle down. I'm going to start setting up courses for her to run after dinner to get out any leftover energy.

I added some things back on my Etsy today. I will have to fix my shop button on the side. For now you  can check it out here!  I have a few more things to add and maybe my sister in law will add some of her adorable baby mobiles that she makes (hint hint Jessica!)

I have so many pictures on our camera I need to post. I've been working on a lot of projects at night and haven't had time. I'm so excited about some new things I've made recently. A lot of them are gifts or special orders that I can't post pictures of yet.
I did finally add the little red riding hood cape to the shop and a fox hat. I'm posting from my phone so I'm not sure how to add a link on here. You can check the link to the shop over there on your left.

Maybe tonight I will have some time to schedule some posts. Sorry it's been pretty boring over here lately!

mama and baby crafts

How is it that I'm home so much more than ever but I can never get anything done? I was able to keep up on here, a little on pint size style, plus working fulltime and taking care of Elinor. I'm trying to crochet more and plan more activities with Elinor lately. Both are going well but crocheting is taking forever since I'm trying out new things and activities with Elinor take a lot of time planning for 10-15min of play.

I just finished a hooded cape for the shop but after trying it on Elinor for pictures, I want to keep it for her. But I think I will go ahead and sell it(look for it this week if interested) and possibly make a new one for her. I'm now working on a new hat that I've taken apart 3 times already.

Elinor loves the sensory bowls I've put together. The rice/corn/pasta is her favorite. After work, Dave even gets it out with her again. Yesterday we did water play (thanks Sarah for the suggestion!). I laid down towels with bowls of water, rubber ducks, stacking cups, spoons and measuring cups. She mostly liked moving the ducks from one bowl to the next as I counted and dipping the measuring cups in to get a drink.

Ashleigh had left a comment with a link to Second Story Window. I've never seen this blog but there are a lot of good ideas with sensory bins and crafts for little ones. I'm going to make a list and head to the dollar store soon.

I'm working on something now that is taking FOREVER! Partly because I have to pay full attention while I'm working on it and Elinor does not like that. I hope when I finish it comes together because right now I'm not too sure.

While cleaning closets the other day I found a lot of vintage baby and mama clothes, different bows/flowers/hats that I've crocheted, and other goodies that people may want. day 1

Elinor's first day of life I tried on a headband I had made for her. It looked so silly on her little head. I found it recently and tried it on her again. What a difference 3 months makes!

Dorie has a new baby brother! He is the cutest little guy ever. When I first held him my baby kicked and he jumped. She is already bonding with him. A couple of weeks ago Dorie and I went to the craft store and I let her pick out yarn for hats for everyone. She loves green so she made sure each had green in it.

I finally opened an Etsy shop because why not! I have been painting these cast iron guys for awhile and have so many sitting around the house so I thought I would share.



I also want to work on getting a lot of things I have crocheted up. It's a little harder with those with getting sizes right and deciding what is the best. But soon!

Taking pictures this week hasn't worked out so well. I restarted Insanity this week and it is killing me! I can barely walk today. I have been exhausted but I'm going to keep with it this time.
Also I finished 2 headbands this week too!

Dave got one picture of me this morning drinking my coffee before work. I just made that headband the night before and love it. I want to make one in every color now.
