I like food

We've been slacking on meals while Dave is gone. Also being sick doesn't help
grilled Daiya cheese with lentil soup
I thought we had lettuce and tomatoes at home home I thought about making this but we didn't. It was still good. I used TJ's beefless ground beef with taco seasoning.
Ever since finding Oh She Glows, I have been going through all of her recipes and have a million tabs open. This vegan chili was great for not feeling good. It was also super easy to make.
Oh She Glows double chocolate chunk cookies. They can be made nut free and gluten free. We used pb because that's all we had. I kept waiting for Elinor to go to sleep every night to eat extra.
We checked out a new organic market MOM'S. It is awesome and the prices are pretty reasonable. I found millet and flax bagels. They are surprisingly tasty. I thought they would be bland.

We are going to a new to us vegan place tonight. We went the other day and it is like a dream come true. They even have vegan soft serve!! I need to take more pictures and make a special post just for Vge Cafe.

I like food

I'm tired and lazy so please excuse all the pictures being different sizes. I'm also sitting here starving looking at the pictures so I'm trying to hurry and post this so I can eat!
Broccoli and Cheddar Soup recipe from Daiya
fillings for Doner Kebap and Gyros
 used this to make this...
Tzatziki Sauce recipe from Vegan Dad
We picked this and Gyros at the veggie food fest
 They both were amazing
 our trip to Cafe Indigo
As soon as we walked in I noticed a sign for the gobbler special. It was their own homemade turkey, stuffing and cranberries. WOW! It was so good. We made a lot of these sandwiches last year after thanksgiving but of course a sandwich is always better when someone else makes it. The bread was also homemade and made the sandwich!
The hardest part was deciding on dessert.
I went with a whoopie pie
Spikes finally opened in the Burlington Mall! I got the junk yard dog which for some reason I've never got. I wanted 10 more after I finished and of course their fries are the best!
Dave brought me olives home the other night from whole foods. He used to hate olives until I turned him on to these guys.

My last day of work is next week so I'm sure I will be doing nothing but eating. So most likely next Friday's I like food will be packed. Oh and it is the day after Thanksgiving!

I took this video of the baby rolling around the other day. She goes more wild than this but ANYTIME I try to catch her on video she settles down.

Happy Friday!

I like food

Here are a couple of pictures we took at the Vegetarian Food Fest
treats from vegan treats. We were really excited they were there and got a couple of donuts
Uncle Eddie's vegan cookies. They were so soft and chewy. We should've picked up a bag.
Daiya cheese! They made samples of grilled cheese with the cheddar and quesadillas with the pepperjack...sooo good

Yea, not too many pics. It is a little hard because it was so crowded and people get pushy. I waited on a bench while Dave went around one more time to see if we missed anything. He came back with some chocolates.
I've had a couple of these go max go candy bars before but I've never seen this one before the fest. It tastes exactly what I remember a reeses cup tasting like. MIlky chocolate and peanut butter! and still vegan!
kale chips from the organic cafe in Beverly
black bean bowl from the organic cafe in Beverly
homemade donuts recipe from peas and thank you. We didn't have coconut oil to make the glaze so we just used chocolate chips alone. It made a thicker glaze but Dave got the idea if we put them in the fridge the next morning they would taste like entenmann's with the thick chocolate. They did and were delicious!

Happy Friday!

I like food

Here are some good things I've been eating (and Dave has been making) lately
pizza with daiya cheese, sundried tomatoes, mushrooms and garlic
steamed kale with sausage and a lot of nutritional yeast
 TempehLTs
carrots, celery and dip to go with Dave's homemade seitan buffalo wings
leftover buffalo wings made into a burrito the next night
Cranberry sunflower seed bread Dave picked up from the farmers market and I made super unhealthy into french toast
Chicken noodle soup made with the broth of the seitan
pregnancy protein shake (it is amazing!)
This super yummy veggie burger with sauerkraut from this food truck at the harvard farmers market

Now I'm starving again and I have to go find more snacks. Happy Friday everyone!

stuffed peppers

I will keep with my continuous talk of food for the week. We have made stuffed peppers before and I thought I blogged about them but I can't seem to find it. Every time we make them slightly different. This time was really simple and easy. Only thing about making stuffed peppers is they have to bake for at least an hour, unless I'm missing something. We don't have a ton of time between when we get home and a reasonable hour to eat dinner. I got off work a little early the other day and we had peppers so we went with what we had.
stuffed with quinoa, black beans and a little pepperjack daiya cheese with mozzarella daiya on top. I'm pretty sure last time we mixed in a little tomato sauce in and it was really good but this was still yummy. Oh and a salad on the side. I was so so so stuffed that night. I think the quinoa expanded in my stomach, hours after we ate I still couldn't move.

perfect sugar cookies?

On Friday I made cookies with my little friend Dorie. They claim to be perfect cookies but our seemed to not come out right. Maybe because my helper was 3 and insisted on doing everything and I let her. Don't get me wrong they still tasted yummy but they didn't come out smooth looking like the picture for the recipe.
right after icing them

Later that night we made pizza which isn't anything new but we tried out Teese vegan cheese. We have had it before from a restaurant but never cooked with it ourselves. It melted super good and even the next day reheated perfect. We had leftover Daiya cheese and sprinkled some on top of it too.
We had leftover Teese, so on sunday I made tofu scramble and shredded some on top. It made the scramble even better!
